Well-due to the nasty weather-our Halloween consisted of putting on their costumes to take a couple of pics and then taking them off. Addison "helped" me hand out candy and loved the constant ringing of the door bell. She LOVES answering the door. Hopefully next year we will have nicer weather-but considering the fact that she won't remember it and she can't even say trick or treat-what's the point? So fun night indoors!

Sorry it has taken so long to get this post up!!! I thought I would have all of this "free time" to blog and such-but sheesh-not so much. I think it's that "having 2 small children" syndrome that has kept me from it.

William is my buddy. I have come to call him that as I spend time with him and get more and more excited each day that God has blessed us with a son. He is very passionate about his daily rituals-especially eating and crying-MY GOODNESS. Addison wasn't much of a crier-what can we say-we were definitely spoiled rotten with her. I'm loving every minute!

Not to bore you with all of the petty details of our never ending hospital stay-I did want to mention the highlights....

The morning of I convinced Mark to go eat a HUGE breakfast at Cracker Barrel-and I'm not a big breakfast eater-but I knew that I would have to go quite some time without eating or drinking-so chow down baby! I had biscuits, grits, eggs, bacon, a bite of a pancake, and made myself eat this suprisingly good steak. I have never eaten steak for breakfast. But I'm convinced it what got me through-I never got nauseous throughout the day. We left Cracker Barrel and I actually went home and was able to sleep for a couple of hours before showering and leaving the house.

Suprisingly enough he was born at 5:38 P.M.-The O.R. was running on time-praise the LORD- The first time I saw him I couldn't believe how tiny he was! 7lbs. 6 oz. 18 1/2 inches long!

We were expecting a much bigger boy!! But I'm thankful he was teeny tiny. I love holding a itty bitty baby. Once they had cleaned him up- Mark was holding him by my face and he started blowing bubbles. After that-I didn't see him until Saturday morning around 10-in the NICU. He apparently had some fluid on one of his lungs and once everything was all said and done before we went home-he also was diagnosed with a none worrisome heart murmur.

Our first doctor's visit to the Pediatrician went wonderfully and we love our new Pediatrician-Dr. Dixon with Kenmar Peds. We were asked to bring him back for a 2 week check up for a weight check and I can proudly say that as of friday this past week he is up to 8 lbs. and 2 oz.!!

Addison was VERY excited to meet her new baby-and I think she realizes at this point that he will be here every morning when she wakes up-but not so much that its her brother yet.

I love his little nose. According to the sonographer, he weighs 6 lbs. 13 oz. ALREADY!!!! He should be around 7 lbs. 13 oz. at birth-which was Addison's birth weight. How crazy is that?!!
Mark already thinks-from a 4D ultrasound picture-that he sadly looks like him. I beg to differ-You can't even tell yet!!!!!This is my last "full" week to finish up whatever it is I feel necessary to get done before my c-section. In some ways it feels like its coming too quickly and in other ways I feel like it can't come fast enough.... I think when I'm feeling the uncomfortable parts of the pregnancy that's when I wish today was THE DAY!

Tommorow begins the 14 day countdown-as we will have our precious William Andrew on Friday the 23rd. It's so hard to believe that we are THIS far along in this journey that seems-in some ways-like we were just on. I'm getting into boy mode that's for sure-I've been "interviewing" a lot of my friends who have little men in their lives getting tips and such.

My AMAZING friends and I got together tonight and had a mini-shower if you will at La Parilla. What a treat! to say the least. They are all amazing and have been more than supportive during this pregnancy. It's neat to think of all the different ways they have each been brought into my life-whether it be a 18 year friendship or a year long one. They each are just the world to me. I treasure my friendships. I am a relationship person to say the least. I remember my mom telling me as I would sulk around towards the beginning of the school year-"Mom, I'm not going to know anyone or make any friends!"- she then would reply, "Cindy-if you wanted to go out back and talk to that tree I do believe you could make it talk back and be it's friend". Point taken.

I'm still praying that William does not come on his own. I realize to some-that I might sound a tad bit controlling in this statement-but if I'm already scheduled for a c-section and we know-Dr. included that I must have a c-section for him to enter this world-then why change that plan? :)

I want him-suprisingly- to stay in until my c-section. I'm still collaborating my list of what I have left to do-I feel like it is growing instead of becoming smaller and having a toddler to throw into the mix makes it more complex.

8 months and this week at a glance

It seems like I just posted 7 months pics yesterday!!! I'm so ready-how could I not be at this point? I've been really really busy the past few weeks which I of course attribute the time flying by. I still get a "kick" out of people's comments lately. Most of the time it has been-"wow you are already 8 months? It seems like it has flown by!"-But one lately-was not so much like that...

"Are you sure you're not having twins?"- nice...SHEESH-as my good friend Dez would say.

Addison's newest "interest" is ripping a napkin multiple pieces in all various sizes and putting them in her stroller and pushing them around, sitting on the fire place and putting them in her lap, or like this pic-just putting it on her head.

To say that the trip was amazing would be the understatement of the year. Addison was mostly perfect in every aspect. She did great in the car for 5 hours at a time-going and coming. She slept wonderfully and loved having the attention of the room-at all times. I took WAY too much-but I didn't want to run out of something at 9:00 at night and have to go out on my own and get it. My parents spoiled us rotten-to the point when I got back I really really missed them! They make everything that much easier with Addison and just adore her. I am blessed and thankful for both of them and know that the Lord was very strategic in picking them out for me and picking me out for them!

Courtney's townhouse is awesome and you can be in prayer for her that she finds a job quickly! She has been actively applying for everything under the sun-but no bites yet. God is a provider among many things-don't we all know it! Please say a prayer -as this next week will be one of the busiest in a while. I'm getting in to that "for-real uncomfortable" stage in my pregnancy- 30 weeks next week- so things that wouldn't normally stress me out or become so overwhelming are becoming just that. But I do get so excited about meeting my little man!

William's Nursery

It's amazing- that for the most part-it turned out EXACTLY how I pictured it when I started desiring to have a little boy! There are only a few more little things-finishing touches- to be done. I went to my 7 month appointment yesterday to primarily do my sugar test and got my results back today-everything's perfect-bloodwork looked great! I asked Mark if I got a prize-like a new Butterfinger shake from Steak and shake-he has yest to answer. In other happenings-Addison starts mother's morning out September 1st for 4 hours in the morning. We are on the waiting list to make it 2 days a week- but I'm praying. Also- I will be heading to Charleston and Hilton Head Island this weekend with Addison to visit sisters (yes plural- they are both there now!) and as a last HOO-RA- before Mr. William is here. My doctor doesn't want me going anywhere in September-and I love her and will obey!! Please say a prayer for the trip there and home- I'm not worried about the there at all!!

Mark and I decided to make a special trip to Monroe-Social Circle-almost 2 hours away simply to feast and dine at one of our favorite restaraunts that we haven't been to for over 5 years! How have we gone this long without satisfying our deep down southern home grown love for country fixins'??!! The people here are so nice and welcoming-I assume that's why they have to eventually turn people away.Don't go without a reservation!

The lemonade is to die for. I think between Mark and I-we drank a gallon easily. Between the both of us, we feasted on cornbread dressing,baked chicken, fried chicken, roast beef, bbq pork, spare ribs, green beans, savannah shrimp and rice, squash casserole,biscuits, corn bread, cheddar pecan biscuits, sweet potato souffle, lima beans, macaroni and cheese, salad bar, vegetable soup, peach cobbler, peanut butter pie, chocolate cream pie, lemon meringue pie, brownies, blue willow bars, chocolate cake, cheesecake, and coconut cake. My personal favorites were and continually will be -after reminding me yesterday-coconut cake and cornbread dressing. I am so thankful that I just found the recipe for the coconut cake on a forum online! Hands down THE best coconut cake. I think I'm going to make it for my amazing OB-GYN Dr. Street -as she appreciates coconut like no other. Plan a special trip with you and your special one and you won't be disappointed!!

My new hobby

I've been wanting to look in more to making appliques and learned that for the most part-you can do anything and it's not that time consuming. I have asked for a sewing machine for our anniversary in November-you know since I'll have so much spare time with a 17 month old, a newborn and so forth.-But I'm going to love making these to give as gifts and just something different to give! The ties are my favorites!! SO adorable!!!

This was a very special baby shower strawberry cake that I made a couple of weeks ago. I was very satisfied how it turned out. I loved especially how the border turned out with a new tip I was playing around with.
My first group of roses-they didn't turn out like I'd hoped for-but it really takes a LOT of practice to get the technique down pat.

There is no end to figure piping-especially when it comes to clowns-you can actually make them cross their legs-lay side ways and all kinds of other positions...

This is a drop flower technique that we learned. I love how the blue turned out!

(Yes, in answer to your question- we will be getting "professional" maternity pictures done at the end of August-but until then we are taking the same 2 poses in the same outfit to compare. You know-since I can't tell the overwhelmingly evident "changes in my body" as the pregnancy progresses....)

It is hard to believe that I'm almost in my third trimester! But-don't get me wrong I'm not complaining!!! Updates on William- C-section is scheduled for October 27th at 7:30 a.m. Mark actually questioned why we could not get a "later" time in the morning.-Men!!!! Yes we do have to check in at 5:30-but WHO CARES!!!! Mark painted his room over the fourth and once we get it done I will definitely post pictures! Currently, I'm trying to find someone locally who has a sailboat to try to do my maternity pics on or around it! This is her "new" (I bought it for 5 dollars at a consignment sale last year) grocery cart-all-inclusive with a baby, cell phone, and cell phone holder on the side. The "bling-bling" of grocery carts. It is beyond hilarious to see her drag the baby out of the seat, take the seat off, take the cart off, destroy the groceries via teething and so forth. Notice-cell phone in hand...

Oh-on a side note-I'm taking cake decorating classes on Thursday nights at Michael's and shamelessly LOVE it!!!! The best 22.50 I have ever spent!!! I have high expectations in what I will learn and am hoping to take course 2 and 3 before the baby is here!

Diaper Cakes

About a month ago, I decided I wanted to make a diaper cake for a shower I was throwing this month for a very special friend and past mentor. I got on youtube and watched MANY videos on how to make the cake and ended up combining ideas and suggestions to create what I saw in my head. Needless to say, I had so much fun doing it. It only took me about an hour to do the boy one and about an hour and a half to do the baby girl one. I got most of my supllies from Hobby Lobby-my new favorite store. I wish it was closer to my house!! I walked the isles for ideas and my favorite one ended up being the wooden letters that I painted. SO MUCH FUN! You really can make each layer as big or as small as you want. I can't wait to make another one! If you know of anyone who is need of one for a shower-please let me know.

Our furniture escapade was a very quick success!! We went with the Bonavita Hudson collection-licorice finish. We BOTH love it! Mark is still actually checking online to MAKE sure that we got a "deal". By no means is this a fault of his...we're just different. I have noticed that after the pool, Addison's hair has really started to have a mind of it's own. I LOVE IT!!!

The part about "Come what May"-I think as a believer we can claim that and not fear it. Come what may Lord- because with you-you're bigger and better than anything that comes our way.

WHAT A GREAT WORSHIP ALBUM!

So far- a big-SO FAR-I have only gained 10 lbs in 5 months of pregnancy-PRAISE THE LORD. I sadly took too heart a little too much that I was "eating for 2" when I was pregnant with Addison- and therefore- used that as my rational for eating all the "unhealthy" things that I ate- I will just leave it at that. So besides not feeling so hot this time around- I actually will take it over feeling good-if it means I gain less weight when it's all said and done. My wondeful- AMAZING- doctor and I joke about how she has to remind her patients-me included- that when the phrase eating for 2 comes along to remind yourself that one of those 2 is not another human GROWN being. Needeless to say-I am striving and trying with all my might to keep the weight down- especially so that I won't be absolutely miserable at the end of the pregnancy.

This morning BABY BOY had the hiccups- he then proceeded to change positions trying to relieve himself of them -I'm sure- but had no luck.... so sweet!

Daddy DATE Night!!

Tonight was Daddy Date night-very appropriate with Father's Day next week! Addison and Avery got to enjoy some La Parilla! Addison loves the mini-quesadilla! Tonight was no exception as she ate apple puffs, mandarin oranges, raisins, gold fishes, milk and then her quesadilla as her main course. Goodness gracious-she can EAT!! Could little Avery get any cuter??!! We sure do LOVE the Thaxton's! God has blessed Rose and I with wonderful daddy's for our sweet girls!

I never thought yesterday could come fast enough to see what this baby would be!!! We are beyond elated that it is a BOY!!! He is measuring right on at where I'm at -a whopping 10 oz.!!!
We will find out in 6 weeks when the C-section will be at Kennestone-4 more months to go! Mark is still deciding on a name.....

Addison's first birthday extravaganza (to say the least)....

Well sadly as first time parents we decided to totally go "all out" in every way possible for Addison's first party-with the expectation that she wouldn't get overwhelmed with all the people and go with the flow. For the most part she did. She actually was in her highchair for a suprisingly and mistakenly ,I might add-long time. Even then she didn't seem to mind. There was too much and too many people to watch and discover. With almost 80 people in attendance-we gathered around to sing Happy Birthday to her after which she daintly picked and prodded at her cake. I would like to compare it to how I scrape icing off of a cake with my finger-come on- it IS the best part-most of the time. I think that most assuredley she would of eaten the whole strawberry cake from Gabriels-a little 5 inch round- if we had let her. To say she got some gifts is a COMPLETE understatement We ended up opening everything after mostly everyone had gone home. The child is definitely blessed as we have hid some of her toys to pull out in the next couple of months until Christmas. She doesn't need a thing! One of her favorite things she got from mommy and daddy was a polka dot chair that she suprisingly loves to sit in to rock and console her baby. She then proceeds to pop out of it and take a few steps before plummeting to the ground. She has recently started to take her first steps. Officially-as Mark is very proud in front of me and a few of Mark's co-workers at his office on his birthday~!

We will have a new addition to the family by the end of October. I will know at about 26-28 weeks when my c-section will be- which will be wonderful. I am a planner-remember. Addison and her sibling will be 17 months apart. I am 3 months now and we will find out in June what we are having. Mark has full name appointing power on this one since I pretty much dominated with choosing Addison's name. I hope he decides by the time we know what we are having. I have to start getting things monogramming. Doesn't he know the responsibililty of a stay at home PREGNANT mom? Someone please explain it to him. No- on a more serious note, Mark was amazing -to say the least- when I was working full time and pregnant-and even now- he never holds back. BUT he is trying to help me and encourage me to eat better this time around :)

Back at the beginning of March we took Addison to Swift Cantrell Park, along with the rest of Cobb County-so that she could finally enjoy swinging! We scouted out a swing and quickly pursued it before someone else knew it was available! There was another little girl on the swing next to hers who was having a blast-who really ended up being the reason Addison relaxed and actually enjoyed herself.

Buttercup The Bull

On Valentine's Day- we had the pleasure of attending one of my former co-workers son's 3rd birthday party-Garrett-which in my opinion surpasses any previous kids party I have ever attended...

Buttercup was his name- and he was the sweetest little- excuse me- 2500 lb. little bull that I have ever met. Take that for what it's worth... :)

His handler told us many stories about his likes and dislikes-one of them being cotton candy-I knew we had a bond the instant I layed eyes on him.

You would of thought that Addison was just riding her zebra that my parents have for her at their house. It never phased her the detrimental handiworks that this animal was capable of. Needless to say it was so much fun- and props-Jason and Amy- THE BEST kid party we've ever attended!! Can't wait to see how you top that next year!!

Addison is on the move to say the least. It is getting harder and harder to contain her in any given area...

We are also loving all the new noises,sounds, and "words" that she is expressing! She gets more animated each day that passes.

Ever since Addison was little we have put her "around" the dogs from time to time -or let her see them every once in a while. But lately, she has become more curious...

Over a very short period of time, Addison has gone from rolling

around on the floor to up on all fours.

Mark was able to take a lot of time off in December over the holidays- thanks to his AMAZING boss Brandon! We took advantage and got to go to the aqaurium with Kim and Matt. Addison was in awe-though she won't remember it-she was free to get in :)

Election time

I was amazed as I sat this morning listening to our pastor communicate so clearly and so appropiately the ultimate truths in regards to the election. Everything from not needing to be anxious about our future in this country -no matter who the Lord allows to come into office. It was such a freeing and yet challenging message. I challenge you to take 30 minutes one night this week preferably before you vote- if you haven't already and listen to this quite riveting piece of truth! One of the key realities he shared with us that since Roe vs. Wade in 1973, over 40 MILLION babies have been aborted. He then continued with sharing that is 3682 babies A DAY being aborted. It is just amazing. The most important thing to God is human life. I feel like before I had Addison "abortion" affected me somewhat- but hearing these alarming and disturbing numbers just bring it to a whole new reality. It is different. It makes me nauseous to say the least. It makes me irate to a new degree. Humanity has never been more powerful- well at least to them it seems...

Halloween and more!!!

Halloween couldn't of gone better. Addison saturated her costume with her drool to no suprise, but we got lots of great pictures as you can see! We are so thankful that she is so photogenic and loves to smile!! We actually stood outside on our driveway while the majority of the neighbors came by. Cute cute children in their adorable costumes!!! We had steaks for dinner and then went to see my parents as suprise trick or treaters.

Last night was also Addison's first time eating cereal. She only had a couple of teaspoonfuls, but seemed to like it. We never got to see a disgusted look on her face!! I will post a video soon of the feeding!!

We went to Crestview to visit Aunt Amy, Uncle Bob, and cousins Carrie and Ethan. We also helped lead a Disciple Now for the second year in a row. Sooooo much fun!!! After the weekend was over we headed over to Destin and got an amazing rate at a Holiday Inn right on the beach. We were only supposed to stay one night and ended up staying 2 nights!! Thanks sweety!!! It was suprisingly Mark's idea. It just made so much sense. October is such an amazing and practical time to go to the beach. While taking Addison for multiple walks on the beach we talked to many different people who were die hard advocates of coming in October.It was not crowded at all! which also means normally slammed restaraunts on the beach like The Crab Trap had no wait at all! How refreshing!! Enjoy the pictures!!!

Mark decided on his day off on Columbus Day he would paint the dining room. As you all know-he is the decorator of this household. I don't mind at all. We both love the color and how it turned out! Can't wait for you all to see it!

We also went the park yesterday and took pictures the last time we went-but not yesterday. Here are the ones from last time. It was so nice! Yesterday, Georgia actually got in the lake to fetch a stick, however, Belle will have nothing to do with the water. What kind of labrador is that??

Right before date night-

Friday night- we went to the Old Mill and LOVED it!! We also had a great time walking around downtown into some of the shops. Our favorite was the Wild Blossom. Check it out sometime!

We leave Friday morning to go down to Florida to help with a Disciple Now at Bob and Amy's church! We went last year right before we got pregant.It is amazing to think of all that has happened in a year.We are about to celebrate a year in our house which is unbelievable! I have often been asking myself where the time has gone and I can't figure it out! Mark and I will actually be speaking a little on Saturday night so please be in prayer about what the Lord would have us say. The topic is true love waits so we are naturally speaking on how we met and how I bribed Mark into marrying me! :) Can't wait to post some beach pictures of Addy-it being her first time and all! Please also be praying that Addison adjusts well to a crazy and hectic schedule as she will primarily be bottle fed while we are there.

I've been tagged by Tara Dorsey to list six quirks about myself.
Let me get Mark to help me get really open and honest!!

1.) I have to plan not only my week, but my next hour with exact accuracy. For the most part, it is highly motivating to me to check off a list even if it consists only of an hours worth of activity.

2.) I am incapable of taking a store bought item to a get together. I just feel that I owe it to society to bestow upon them high calorie baked goods of many different catergories. Pies, cakes, cookies, ganache,breads, and so forth.

3.)I have an extrordinary passion for gum. Ever since I can remember, I just feel more like Cynthia when I have gum in my mouth. Favorites are trident white and old fashion super bubble from the ball park!

4.) Not many people know this, but I have a horrible habit of buying books, begin to read one-only to put it down and begin another book because I think it will be more intriguing.

5.) I am obsessed with home made icecream and Great American Cookie Company cookie cake. Anyday, anytime.

6.) Sometimes when I am standing next to my husband I start to lean on him and play what we call..."Dead Weight". I continue to lean pretending like I will fall over if he doesn't catch me. It always gets a smile.

A year ago....

It is amazing to think a year ago yesterday I took three pregancy tests and they all indicated positive pregnancy!! I remember the feeling I got when I saw the indicators on the tests. It was like I was in a dream and a there was a rush and feeling of excitement like no other.It kind of reminded me about the morning of my wedding: "Oh yeah, I am getting married today!". There is nothing else in the mind at that moment.Only.... I have a baby in my belly. It is amazing to look at Addison and know that this is God's precious creation. It sounds so simple and yet everything that goes on to create life can only be summed up by a miracle. Addison is my miracle.

My new discovery...

Addison had her 4 month check up and was 15.12 lbs and 26th inches long!! She is a big girl needless to say. Tommorow we go to our first wedding together as a family and thanks to our wonderful family she will get to come to the reception where it won't necessarily matter if she is fussy or not. I can't wait to post pictures in her fancy dress!
